Kneeling Hip CARs As someone who's usually on his feet almost all day, I periodically go into half-kneeling positions throughout the day to give my legs a brief rest. It's also a position that I'd like to be able to get into as I get older so by visiting this position frequently I'm safeguarding the articular cartilage health of my patellofemoral joints (kneecaps), hips, ankles and big toes. _ Recently I've been performing a modified version of hip CARs in this position which has been feeling great. The feedback of my foot being on the ground offers my joints some closed-chain proprioception I wouldn't otherwise experience with open-chain CARs. I also like the deliberate transverse & sagittal plane pelvic motion, which allows my femur to move and rotate at different acetabular (hip socket) orientations. #ClinicalAthlete #FunctionalRangeConditioning @drandreospina A post shared by PhysioStrength (@physiostrengthnyc) on Jun 13, 2018 at 4:29am PDT Clinton LeeJune 18, 2018Comment Facebook0 Twitter LinkedIn0 0 Likes
