Quadruped Hip CARs If sidelying clamshells don't do it for your hip anymore try banging out several slow repetitions of hip CARs in quadruped. • Working the hip through these rotational movements at your outermost ranges provides your central nervous system important and diverse afferent feedback from mechanoreceptors within the joint capsule. In other words, your brain is receiving info about joint position, pressure, changes in muscle length, etc. which helps better enable neurological control of the hip. Establishing this base and dialing in neurological control opens the doorway to more advanced movement and strength challenges. • Try to move your hip as best as you can while limiting movement from other parts of your body (something I need more work on). Going to your full available end range helps activate joint mechanoreceptors more efficiently than in midrange (Zachazewski, 1996). @drandreospina A video posted by PhysioStrength (@physiostrengthnyc) on Dec 11, 2016 at 11:49am PST Clinton LeeDecember 15, 2016Comment Facebook0 Twitter LinkedIn0 0 Likes
