Hip 90/90 Another Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) drill to open up your hips before paddling sessions or leg days in the gym. How I wish I knew about this during my dragon boating days! Long practices with your hips and legs braced in the same position for a couple of hours can make you feel all sorts of tight. I love this mobility sequence as it addresses external rotation range of motion in one hip with simultaneous internal rotation in the other. 🚣🏼 Transition from one position to the next under CONTROL. No matter how you use your legs to brace yourself in a dragon boat, giving your hips more rotational degrees of freedom will help you apply power. And the more your legs can comfortably tolerate long durations of sitting in an OC, kayak, shell or single scull, the more pain-free training you'll endure. Stay tuned for more paddling-related rehab, training and injury prevention content! #FRC #ControlYourself #FunctionalAnatomySeminars #FunctionalRangeConditioning #ExpandControlCreate #Kinstretch #dragonboat #kayaking #paddling #outrigger #OC1 #OC6 #SUP #standuppaddleboard #SFG #physicaltherapy #sportsrehab #ClinicalAthlete #TalisCrew #paddlesports #mobility #physicaltherapy A video posted by PhysioStrength (@physiostrengthnyc) on Aug 25, 2016 at 4:07pm PDT Clinton LeeOctober 3, 2016Comment Facebook0 Twitter LinkedIn0 0 Likes
