Dragon Boating and MobilityStick Been having a lot of fun using @stickmobility with my dragon boat patients. I've used PVCs and body bars for therapeutic drills in the past, but the flexibility of this stick really makes it a versatile tool. This lunging bow & arrow movement implicitly teaches your body how to generate and maintain tension through your core, shoulders and arms and transfer it into something external. Where do you lose tension when you're paddling and your form begins to break down? Is the weak link in your system coming from your lack of rotation, top arm shoulder impingement or inadequate scapular protraction/depression on your outside arm? Do you break at your elbow early on the pull or have an upper-trap dominant technique? # Passive flexibility (stretch-iness, bend-ability) is an important component of paddling but is more meaningful when your body can maintain strength throughout that flexibility. Training your joints to familiarize themselves with loading in relevant positions will help your technique maintain form when your endurance and stamina are being tested. @nvstrength A photo posted by PhysioStrength (@physiostrengthnyc) on Oct 9, 2016 at 7:56pm PDT Clinton LeeOctober 30, 2016Comment Facebook0 Twitter LinkedIn0 0 Likes
