USAPL Raw Nationals 2018

Nationals Recap! So I didn't make weight (over by 0.4 kg) which meant I couldn't compete as an open division 74 kg as originally planned. I had conceded to just spectate and cheer my friends on for the rest of the competition (as I wasn't eligible to compete in the 83 kg open division) until the quick-thinking @barbellsandcats confirmed with a ref that I could actually still participate as an 83 kg "guest lifter". Had 15 minutes to warm-up before my first squat attempt, so I had the fastest warm-up ever and ended the day with a 185 kg squat, 127.5 kg bench (2.5 kg PR) and 222.5 kg deadlift (7.5 kg PR) for a 535 kg total (10 kg total PR)! I wasn't aware of this guest lifter rule; if you ever find yourself in a situation like mine at Nationals where your weight doesn't work out, know that this can be an option for you to at least still compete which is better than nothing. _ Huge thanks to Coach Sean for saving my weekend, quarterbacking our team through some tricky circumstances and enabling me to participate in an event that I was looking forward to for a long time. Thanks to all my @murderofcrowsbarbellclub teammates, fellow @squatsandscience athletes & @catch22nycdb friends and everyone else who gave me words of encouragement and wished me luck--congrats to all of you who competed too! I love this sport!!! 😁😝😄 _ #ClinicalAthleteProvider
